How to set up IPTV on an Amazon Fire TV Stick
By the IPTV Gold support team 10 min read
To set up IPTV on a Fire TV Stick or Fire TV Cube, install an IPTV player from the Amazon Appstore, choose “Login with Xtream Codes” and enter the server URL, username and password from your IPTV Gold dashboard. The first sync loads live TV, movies, series and the TV guide.
What you need
- A Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K or Fire TV Cube connected to the internet
- Your login details from your IPTV Gold dashboard
- For 4K: a Fire TV Stick 4K (or newer) and a 4K TV
Login used on this device: Xtream Codes login (server URL, username, password)
Step by step
Open the Amazon Appstore
From the home screen go to Find › Search (the magnifying glass).
Install an IPTV player
Search for the player recommended in your dashboard and install it from the Appstore. Store versions update automatically and are the safest choice.
Choose the Xtream Codes login
Open the player and select “Login with Xtream Codes API”. Xtream loads the TV guide and categories automatically.
Enter your details
Type the server URL with http:// or https:// and any port number, then your username and password exactly as shown in your dashboard.
Wait for the first sync and press play
The first sync can take a minute or two. Then open Live TV, pick a channel and add favourites for quick access.
Your login details, explained
- Xtream Codes login
- A server URL, a username and a password. Most player apps call this “Xtream Codes API” or “Login with Xtream”. It loads live TV, movies, series and the TV guide in one go.
- M3U playlist URL
- One long link that contains your channel list. Use it in players without Xtream Codes support, such as VLC.
- EPG URL
- The TV guide (XMLTV) link. Xtream players load it automatically; with an M3U playlist you may need to paste it separately.
- Portal URL
- Used only by MAG boxes. Save your box's MAC address in your dashboard and we link it to your plan.
Your login details are in your dashboard under Subscription. Keep them private: anyone with them can use your connection, and your plan covers one screen at a time.
What internet speed do I need?
We suggest at least these download speeds for each screen watching at the same time. Test the speed on the device itself.
| Picture quality | Suggested speed per screen |
|---|---|
| SD | 5 Mbps |
| HD / Full HD | 10 Mbps |
| 4K UHD | 25 Mbps |
Tips for a smoother picture
- Fire TV Sticks run warm: clear the player's cache now and then (Settings › Applications › Manage installed applications).
- An Ethernet adapter for Fire TV gives steadier live sport than Wi-Fi.
- Use the remote's voice button for device menus; search for channels inside the player.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Try this |
|---|---|
| “Invalid login” or “authorisation failed” | Re-type the server URL with http:// and the port, and check capital letters in your username and password. |
| Buffering on busy evenings | Restart the stick, switch to Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, and try the channel's alternative version if one is listed. |
| The stick feels slow | Clear the player's cache, uninstall apps you don't use and restart from Settings › My Fire TV › Restart. |
