How to set up IPTV on a MAG box
By the IPTV Gold support team 10 min read
To set up IPTV on a MAG box, save the MAC address printed under the box in your IPTV Gold dashboard. Once it is linked to your plan, open Settings › Servers › Portals, enter a portal name and the portal URL from your dashboard, save and reboot. The box then loads your channels at start-up.
What you need
- An Infomir MAG box (for example MAG 322, 324, 424 or 524) connected to your TV
- The MAC address from the label under the box (it starts with 00:1A:79)
- The portal URL shown in your dashboard
Login used on this device: Portal URL, linked to your box's MAC address
Step by step
Save your MAC address
Turn the box over and read the label, or find it under Settings › Device info. Add the device in your dashboard with its MAC address so we can link it to your plan.
Open the portal settings
Press Setup (or the gear button) on the remote and open Settings › Servers › Portals. On older firmware this is System settings › Servers › Portals.
Enter the portal name and URL
Set Portal 1 name to anything you like (for example “Gold”) and type the portal URL exactly as shown in your dashboard, including http:// and any trailing slash.
Save and reboot
Press OK to save, go back to Settings and choose Reboot, or unplug the box for ten seconds.
Wait for the portal to load
After the reboot the box connects to the portal and shows your channel list. The first load can take a minute.
Your login details, explained
- Xtream Codes login
- A server URL, a username and a password. Most player apps call this “Xtream Codes API” or “Login with Xtream”. It loads live TV, movies, series and the TV guide in one go.
- M3U playlist URL
- One long link that contains your channel list. Use it in players without Xtream Codes support, such as VLC.
- EPG URL
- The TV guide (XMLTV) link. Xtream players load it automatically; with an M3U playlist you may need to paste it separately.
- Portal URL
- Used only by MAG boxes. Save your box's MAC address in your dashboard and we link it to your plan.
Your login details are in your dashboard under Subscription. Keep them private: anyone with them can use your connection, and your plan covers one screen at a time.
What internet speed do I need?
We suggest at least these download speeds for each screen watching at the same time. Test the speed on the device itself.
| Picture quality | Suggested speed per screen |
|---|---|
| SD | 5 Mbps |
| HD / Full HD | 10 Mbps |
| 4K UHD | 25 Mbps |
Tips for a smoother picture
- MAG boxes are built for a wired connection: use the Ethernet port for the steadiest picture.
- Update the firmware from Settings › Software update if the portal looks broken.
- Each MAC address is tied to one plan, so update your dashboard before you replace your box.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Try this |
|---|---|
| “STB blocked” or “Your STB is not authorised” | The MAC address isn't linked yet or doesn't match. Compare the label with the address saved in your dashboard. |
| Stuck on “Loading portal…” | Check the portal URL character by character, reboot, and confirm the box shows a connection under Settings › Network. |
| Wrong time in the TV guide | Set your time zone under Settings › System settings › Time / Date, then reboot. |
